Get Off the X
Most gun training takes place at ranges where shooting while moving is not allowed. This ingrains the habit of ‘stand and deliver’. However force on force training makes it clear very quickly that ‘stand and deliver” means ‘shoot and get shot’. Getting off the X and being a moving target, makes it harder for your opponent to get a sight picture on you. It’s been said, “you can run or you can shoot, but you can’t do both”. This is because for most people, the hands and feet are neurologically linked to move in rhythm. The slower your hands move (as you try to work more demanding iron sights or a red dot), the slower your feet will move.
